Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 3 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Astana Open by beating Poland’s Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 7 seed, in straight sets on Friday.

Tsitsipas, who saved five break points in the first set, did not face a single break point during the contest while he was able to convert one of eight break point chances he had and won 7-6 (8), 6-3 to reach the last four for the ninth time this season.

The Greek has not dropped a set all week, beating Kazakh wildcard Mikhail Kukushkin (6-3, 6-4) and Italian qualifier Luca Nardi (7-6 (2), 7-6 (3)) in the previous rounds of Nur-Sultan.
