Chile Open: Jarry books spot in semi-finals, Munar next

Nicolas Jarry edged out Yannick Hanfmann 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday night and will play Spaniard Jaume Munar in the next round

Chilean Nicolas Jarry moved into the semi-finals of the Chile Open by edging out German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago on Saturday night.

Jarry, ranked No 87, will face Spaniard Jaume Munar next.

The Chilean defeated Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (7-6 (1), 6-4) and edged out Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, the No 4 seed (6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (2)) earlier in the Santiago Open.

Hanfmann, ranked No 153, won against Spaniard Pedro Martinez (6-2, 6-0) and Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (7-6 (6), 6-2).
