Novak Djokovic won his 10th Australian Open in Melbourne on Sunday, tying him with Rafael Nadal at 22 Grand Slam singles titles – the most by any player in the history of men’s tennis.

And soon after, the Serb received congratulatory messages from both his rivals in the G.O.A.T. race, Nadal and Roger Federer, who was the first player to break Pete Sampras’ mark of 14 Slams and retired with 20 late last year.

Nadal, who lost in the second round of the Australian Open to American Mackenzie McDonald, posted a story on Instagram, congratulating his rival. “Amazing achievement Nole. Many congrats to you and your team! Well deserved. Enjoy Nole!’, he posted.

Nadal and Djokovic will now head to Paris in a few months time with both aiming to become the first male player in history to win 23 Grand Slams. Only two women – Serena Williams (23) and Margaret Court (24) – currently won more singles Slams than Nadal & Djokovic.

Federer, who retired at the Laver Cup in September playing alongside Nadal and Djokovic for Team Europe, also posted a congratulatory message for the Serb on Instagram stories.

“Incredible effort, again! Many congratulation”, the Swiss said in his message.
