Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech beat Romanian qualifier Marius Copil 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Tel Aviv Open at Expo Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
Rinderknech, ranked No 58, will face No 3 seed Diego Schwartzman next.
