2020 Roland-Garros champion Iga Swiatek of Poland is in quarantine after she learned that Polish President Andrzej Duda has tested positive for coronavirus. Swiatek met with Duda on Friday, when she was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit for her achievement in Paris and her promotion of Poland internationally.

The 19-year-old, who became the first Polish player to ever win a Grand Slam singles title and the youngest woman to win Roland-Garros since 1992 earlier this month, posted a message on social media on Saturday, saying:

“Neither I nor my team members have symptoms of the coronavirus. We perform tests regularly. In accordance with the applicable procedures, we are quarantined. We will repeat the tests in three days. We wish you all a lot of health, take care!”

Poland has seen a spike in coronavirus cases this month, and recorded over 13,000 on Friday, according to data from Johns-Hopkins University.
