UTS: The first day postponed due to rain

The start of Ultimate Tennis Showdown was to begin on Saturday at 4:00 PM CET. But rain at the Mouratoglou Academy forced organisers to postpone the start of their brand new competition to Sunday. The matches scheduled for Saturday will now be played on Monday.

UTS' first day postponed due to rain Yesterday, some practice matches could be played on UTS Centre court. Including in the evening. Players will be back on this hard court tomorrow.

It was written that Ultimate Tennis Showdown will do something unlike any other. Unfortunately for Patrick Mouratoglou and UTS, the rain has been pouring down on Sophia Antipolis, where the Mouratoglou Academy, home of this brand new league, is located. So the organisers took the decision to postpone the beginning of the event to Sunday. The matches initially scheduled for Saturday will now be played on Monday. The exact programme for Monday is still to be determined.

Hopefully, there will be sun on Sunday, and the Ultimate Tennis Showdown will start for real at 4:00 PM CET. Sunday’s schedule remains as was. This means rising stars Elliot Benchetrit and Alexei Popyrin will kick off the competition. The clash between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Benoît Paire will conclude the day.
