Roland-Garros: Keys unlocks Rybakina, through to last 16

American Madison Keys, the No 22 seed, advanced to the last 16 of Roland-Garros by edging out Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 16 seed, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 [3].

Keys, ranked No 22, will face Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 29 seed, next.

In the previous rounds, the American edged out Russian Anna Kalinskaya (6-3, 3-6, 6-4) and defeated Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia (6-4, 7-6 [3]).

Rybakina, ranked No 16, won against Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (6-1, 5-7, 6-2) and American wildcard Katie Volynets (6-4, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
