Roland-Garros: van de Zandschulp advances to third round after Fognini retirement

Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 26 seed, reached the third round of Roland-Garros when Italian Fabio Fognini withdrew at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Wednesday evening.

Van De Zandschulp, ranked No 29, led 6-4, 7-6 [2], 3-2 when Fognini, ranked No 51, pulled out on Wednesday evening at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris.

The Dutchman will play the winner of the next match between French wildcard Corentin Moutet and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, the No 5 seed, next.

In the first round, van de Zandschulp beat Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov (6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2)
