American Frances Tiafoe has joined the stellar cast of UTS (Ultimate Tennis Showdown) in Los Angeles in July this year. Nicknamed ‘Big Foe’, Tiafoe joins an impressive line-up that already includes reigning Wimbledon finalist Nick ‘King’ Kyrgios, top-ranked American Taylor ‘The Hotshot’ Fritz, and former top 10 player Diego ‘El Peque’ Schwartzman.

Tiafoe is currently ranked No 12 in the world and is the second-highest ranked American player on the ATP Tour, behind Fritz. The 25-year-old reached his first Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open in September and has two ATP singles titles to his name so far.

UTS Los Angeles will be held from July 21 to 23 at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, on the Campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills in a 7,200 seat stadium. It marks a return of professional tennis to the greater Los Angeles area, which hosted an ATP event from 1968 to 2012. You can purchase tickets here.

Italy’s Matteo Berrettini won the inaugural edition of UTS while Germany’s Alexander Zverev and Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova won the second edition. Australia’s Alex de Minaur won the third edition while France’s Corentin Moutet won UTS4, the first edition on clay.
