Zverev has won both of his previous meetings with the Canadian, but FAA will be eager to prove that he’s the type of predator who can match up with The Lion’s Top 10 talents. The German is a player with such athleticism and when you consider he’s 6 feet 6 inches tall, the way he moves is a real bonus.

“He’s got a long wingspan, he can hurt you from wherever, particularly on the forehand side,” said UTS commentator Pete Odgers. “He has a luscious backhand, as well. He’s still very young. He’s won a lot of ATP Tour matches, so he’s very experienced. He’s always a threat, no matter who he plays.”

Significant strides in 2020 for Auger-Aliassime and Zverev

Both players have made significant strides already in 2020. A first major semi-final in Australia for Zverev happened in January. Auger-Aliassime turned heads at Marseille and Rotterdam a few weeks later to become the youngest ATP player to reach consecutive finals in 14 years.

“Felix Auger-Aliassime has athleticism like no one else,” Odgers noted. “He’s such a smooth mover around the court and he just got a great, cool, calm head on young shoulders. His weakness? It’s tough to tell. He’s happy coming forward; what more can you ask for? It’s going to be wonderful to see him at UTS.”

Soon we will find out which player can pounce on his opportunities to prove he’s the king of the UTS jungle.
