Azarenka inflicts ‘double bagel’ on Kenin

Victoria Azarenka stormed past the reigning Australian Open champion in Rome, 6-0 6-0.

Victoria Azarenka has been firing on all cylinders over the last month, and it doesn’t seem to matter which surface - or continent - she is playing on. On Wednesday at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome the 31-year-old Belarusian made short work of her sometimes double partner Sofia Kenin, 6-0 6-0 in 62 minutes to book a spot in the round of 16.

“I think my consistency was the key to the scoreline,” Azarenka told the press after her 13th victory in her last 14 matches. “I feel like I played really smart tennis today: I was able to use a lot of court, I was able to use a lot of different pace. So I’m very happy with that. But the key was definitely being able to maintain the level that I started with.”
