Nadal demolishes Carreno Busta in Rome

Rafael Nadal was at his blistering best as he thrashed Pablo Carreno Busta 6-1 6-1 in the Italian Open. Rafael Nadal opened his short road to Roland-Garros with a convincing straight sets win over compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta on Wednesday in Rome. The Spaniard, playing his first ATP match since he claimed his 85th ATP title at Acapulco this winter, says it was a surreal experience to play without fans.

Nevertheless, he liked his effort and was pleased with the win.
“Strange feeling, of course, going out there,” Nadal said. “Not beautiful, the feeling, playing without spectators because the energy of the fans is impossible to describe, but for me at least it has been today a very positive comeback. I played a solid match, maybe Pablo was a little bit tired from a great tournament in New York, but thinking about myself I played a very solid match, doing a lot of things very well, so very happy.”
