Andrey Rublev finished runner-up at the 2019 Hamburg European Open. It looks like he wants to go one step farther this time around.

The 14th-ranked Russian, who is in the midst of an outstanding season, maintained his stellar form by crushing Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and 25 minutes. Rublev now finds himself back in the Hamburg final, which he lost to two-time champion Nikoloz Basilashvili last summer.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, the second seed, stands in Rublev’s way. Tsitsipas scored a 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Cristian Garin.
