At the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, Caroline Garcia became only the second Frenchwoman to win the season-ending finale. Garcia went 2-1 in round-robin play, beating Coco Gauff and Daria Kasatkina and losing to top-ranked Iga Swiatek. In the semi-finals, Garcia defeated Maria Sakkari 6-3, 6-2 and then the Frenchwoman beat Aryna Sabalenka 7-6, 6-4 to win the biggest title of her career.

“After my withdrawal from Miami in March (in the first round against Anna Bondar), I could never have believed that I could do it,” she told L’Equipe. “I could never have believed it. Despite this breakthrough run, Garcia could not replicate the same success the following year. After a difficult season in which the Frenchwoman struggled greatly with form, Garcia lost in the opening round at the 2023 US Open to Chinese qualifier Wang.
Her most recent Grand Slam appearance was at the 2024 Australian Open, where she was knocked out 6-4, 7-6 (2) by Magdalena Frech in the second round in another early-round Grand Slam exit for the Frenchwoman.
