Makaraska Open: Parry moves into last 4
Diane Parry defeated Linda Noskova 1-6, 7-6 (1), 6-3 on Friday afternoon and will play the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, and Chinese Yue Yuan in the next round
Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 5 seed, won against Czech Linda Noskova, the top seed, 1-6, 7-6 (1), 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Makaraska Open at Tennis Center Makarska on Friday afternoon.
Parry, ranked No 79, will play the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, and Chinese Yue Yuan next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 20-year-old Frenchman beat Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko (6-2, 6-4) and Romanian qualifier Miriam Bulgaru (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).
Noskova, ranked No 50, defeated Latvian Darja Semenistaja (6-2, 7-5) and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 7-6 (7)) in the previous rounds of the Makarska tournament.
