Open d’Angers: Vondrousova reaches quarter-finals

Marketa Vondrousova won against Viktoriya Tomova 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday evening. She’ll play the winner of the match between American Alycia Parks and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian in the next round

Czech Marketa Vondrousova advanced to the last eight of the Open d’Angers by winning against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No 7 seed, 6-2, 6-2 at Arena Loire in Trélazé on Wednesday evening.

Vondrousova, ranked No 97, will play the winner of the match between American Alycia Parks and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian next.

The Czech defeated Belgian Yanina Wickmayer (6-1, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round.

In the previous round, Tomova, ranked No 90, won against qualifier Joanna Garland (1-6, 6-3, 6-0).
