Britain’s Emma Raducanu has brought on former ATP pro Dmitry Tursunov as her coach for the US Open swing according to The Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old is getting ready to defend the Grand Slam title she won in the most unexpected of circumstances last year.

Raducanu has been working with coaches at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) since splitting with Torben Beltz after a five-month stint earlier this year.

Tursunov, aged 39, peaked at No 20 in the world in 2006 and won 7 ATP singles title in his career. He helped Russia win the Davis Cup in 2006 and Hopman Cup in 2007.

The Russian has previously coached Elena Vesnina, Aryna Sabalenka and current world No 2 Anett Kontaveit previously. Ironically, Kontaveit, who Tursunov coached most recently until June this year, is now working with Raducanu’s former coach Beltz.

The arrangement will be on a trial basis and will last through the US Open for now.
