US Open champ Raducanu looking forward to play in Romania

US Open champion Emma Raducanu has confirmed that she will play at the Transylvania Open, the WTA 250 event in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in the last week of October.
The tournament’s Twitter handle posted a message of Raducanu speaking in Romanian where the 18-year-old says she is looking forward to playing the tournament.
Raducanu is a British citizen but has Romanian roots as her father is from Bucharest, Romania.
The 18-year-old, who stunned the tennis world with her run from the qualifying draw to the US Open title, will play her first match since her dream run at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells later this week.
After a first-round bye, Raducanu will play Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round and could meet Romania’s Simona Halep, whom she has cited as one of her idols, in the third round.
Halep, a two-time Grand Slam winner, has also entered the tournament in her native country. She is one of 10 players ranked inside the world’s top 50 who have entered the WTA 250 event.
