Emma Navarro beat top seed Madison Brengle 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the last 4 of the Vancouver Open at Hollyburn Country Club on Friday evening.
Navarro, ranked No 168, will play Greek qualifier Valentini Grammatikopoulou next.
In the previous rounds, Emma Navarro edged out Canadian Rebecca Marino, the No 6 seed (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7)) and won against Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (2-6, 6-3, 6-2).
Brengle, ranked No 61, defeated Australian Lizette Cabrera (6-0, 6-0) and Coco Vandeweghe (7-5, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
