Sixth seed Sebastian Baez stunned home favourite Lorenzo Musetti in the final match of the opening day at the Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals, winning their Group B clash 4-1, 4-1, 3-4, 4-3.

The match lasted less than an hour and 40 minutes, and the Argentinian managed to hit 28 winners; though he did not hit any aces, he also did not serve any double faults, compared to Musetti’s three and two respectively.

The two had played once before on the juniors circuit, with the Italian winning 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-4 in Chengdu back in 2018.

Baez has not yet broken the Top 100, while Musetti is currently ranked world No 58, just beyond his career-high of No 57.
