Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Rothesay International Eastbourne by defeating Italian Lorenzo Sonego 7-6 (3), 6-2 on Wednesday.
De Minaur, ranked No 24, will now face the winner of the match between American Tommy Paul and Italian Jannik Sinner, the second seed.
In the previous round, the Australian won against Chilean Cristian Garin (6-3, 6-3).
Sonego, ranked No 32, edged out Australian qualifier James Duckworth (4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (1)) during the 32.
