Alcaraz survives five-setter with Struff to reach round 2

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the No 5 seed, moved into the second round of Wimbledon by defeating German Jan-Lennard Struff 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday afternoon.
Alcaraz, ranked No 7, will face the winner of the match between Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor and Italian Fabio Fognini next.
“It’s amazing to get the win after this unbelievable match,” Alcaraz told the crowd.
The Spaniard was able to edge the match thanks to his serving. After he fell behind by two sets to one, he never faced another break point. In total, he racked up 30 aces.
“I still don’t know how I serve [so well] today,” Alcaraz said. “This was probably my best match serving, it was a weapon that I used today, that’s why I won.”
