Belgian David Goffin won against American Frances Tiafoe, the No 23 seed, 7-6 (3), 5-7, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 to reach the last eight of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Sunday afternoon.
Goffin, ranked No 58, will face the winner of the match between No 9 seed Cameron Norrie and American Tommy Paul, the No 30 seed, next.
The Belgian beat qualifier Radu Albot (6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (5)), Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 31 seed (6-1, 6-2, 6-4) and Frenchman Ugo Humbert (4-6, 7-5, 6-2, 7-5) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Tiafoe, ranked No 28, defeated Italian qualifier Andrea Vavassori (6-4, 6-4, 6-4), German qualifier Maximilian Marterer (6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (3)) and Kazakh Alexander Bublik (3-6, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (3), 6-4).
