Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic edged out Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 6 seed, 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8) to reach the second round of the Poland Open at Legia Tenis & Golf in Warsaw on Wednesday.
Mladenovic, ranked No 116, will play Swiss Viktorija Golubic next.
