Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina won against Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka 6-3, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Monday.
Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 39, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Marton Fucsovics and American Maxime Cressy, the No 30 seed, next.
