Spanish qualifier Aliona Bolsova saw off Argentinian lucky loser Maria Lourdes Carle 6-1, 7-6 (8) to reach the last 16 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Tuesday.
Bolsova, ranked No 206, will face Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl next.
