Chennai Open: Swan reaches last eight
Katie Swan won against Anastasia Gasanova 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Thursday and will face Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino in the next round
Katie Swan moved into the quarter-finals of the Chennai Open by defeating Russian Anastasia Gasanova 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Thursday.
Swan, ranked No 174, will play Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino next.
Katie Swan won against Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Gasanova, ranked No 147, beat American Alison Riske-Amritraj, the top seed (6-2, 6-3).
