Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, won against Australian Aleksandar Vukic 6-2, 6-3 to reach the last four of the Sofia Open at the Arena Armeec Sofia on Friday evening.
Sinner, ranked No 10, will play the winner of the match between Belarusian Ilya Ivashka and Dane Holger Rune, the No 5 seed. The champion in 2019 and 2021, he’s on course to win it for a third straight time.
Ahead of his victory, the 21-year-old Italian beat Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3, 6-4).
Vukic, ranked No 144, defeated Italian Fabio Fognini (7-6 (11), 7-5) and Spaniard Fernando Verdasco (1-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Sofia.
