Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Astana Open by defeating Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 6-1, 6-2 at the Daulet National Tennis Center in Nur-Sultan on Friday.
Rublev, ranked No 9, will play the winner of the match between Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 3 seed, and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 7 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian won against Serb qualifier Laslo Djere (6-4, 6-3) and Chinese qualifier Zhizhen Zhang (6-3, 6-2).
Mannarino, ranked No 51, beat Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka (1-6, 6-2, 6-3) and edged out Belgian lucky loser David Goffin (3-6, 6-1, 7-5).
