German Jule Niemeier reached the last 16 of the Transylvania Open by Verdino by winning against Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 3 seed, 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Monday evening.
Niemeier, ranked No 74, will play the winner of the match between Serb qualifier Olga Danilovic and Russian qualifier Kamilla Rakhimova next.
