Auckland Open: Sixth seed Isner goes down to Barrere in first round

French qualifier Gregoire Barrere moved into the second round of the Auckland Open with an upset win over big-serving American John Isner, the No 6 seed, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-3 at the ASB Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Barrere, ranked No 88, will next play fellow Frenchman Constant Lestienne in the second round.
