Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the second seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open by edging out Australian Jason Kubler 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Wednesday afternoon.
Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 9, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 7 seed, and SoonWoo Kwon next.
Kubler, ranked No 74, benefited from the abandonment of Russian Aslan Karatsev (7-6 (4), 1-0) in the previous round of the Doha Open.
