Chile Open: Carballes Baena reaches second round
Roberto Carballes Baena benefited from the abandonment of Carlos Taberner (6-1) on Tuesday and will face German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann in the next round
Roberto Carballes Baena reached the second round of the Chile Open when lucky loser Carlos Taberner retired at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago on Tuesday.
Carballes Baena, ranked No 74, led 6-1 when Taberner, ranked No 181, pulled out.
Roberto Carballes Baena will play German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann next.
