Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia reached the last 16 of the Porsche Grand Prix when Italian Martina Trevisan retired at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on Tuesday.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 14, led 7-5, 1-1 when Trevisan, ranked No 20, pulled out at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on Tuesday.
The Brazilian will play the winner of the match between German wildcard Jule Niemeier and Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 6 seed, next.
