Lyon Open: Nakashima upsets Paul to make semis
Brandon Nakashima defeated Tommy Paul 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Thursday afternoon. He’ll face the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top seed, and French wildcard Arthur Fils in the next round

No 8 seed Brandon Nakashima reached the last four of the Lyon Open by winning against No 3 seed Tommy Paul 6-3, 7-6 (4) at Parc de la Tête d’or on Thursday.
Nakashima, ranked No 52, will face the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top seed, and French wildcard Arthur Fils next.
Earlier in the tournament, Brandon Nakashima beat Argentinian Diego Schwartzman (7-5, 6-3) and edged out Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (7-6 (6), 1-6, 7-5).
Paul, ranked No 17, defeated Frenchman Gregoire Barrere (7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3) in the previous round of the Lyon tournament.
