Swiss wildcard Celine Naef followed up her win over Venus Williams by beating American Caty McNally, the No 8 seed, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Dutch Open at the Autotron Rosmalen in’s-Hertogenbosch on Thursday.
Naef, ranked No 202, will play Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 17-year-old Swiss won against American wildcard Venus Williams (3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2).
McNally, ranked No 62, defeated Katie Volynets (6-2, 6-1) in the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament.
