Australian James Duckworth edged out Frenchman Constant Lestienne 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 to reach the second round of the Hall of Fame Open in Newport on Tuesday.
Duckworth, ranked No 129, will face 18-year-old Alex Michelsen next.
