Swede Rebecca Peterson reached the quarter-finals of the Chicago Women’s Open by winning against Estonian Kaia Kanepi 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Peterson, ranked No 92, will play Spaniard Cristina Bucsa next.
In the previous round, the Swede beat Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 7 seed (6-1, 6-4).
Kanepi, ranked No 135, won against Russian Margarita Betova (6-2, 6-1) in the 32.
