Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Chicago Women’s Open by winning against American Madison Brengle in straight sets (7-6 (4), 6-3) on Wednesday.
Masarova, ranked No 74, will play the winner of the match between American Claire Liu and Australian qualifier Storm Hunter next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard defeated Hungarian Panna Udvardy (6-2, 6-4).
Brengle, ranked No 97, won against qualifier Irina Khromacheva (6-1, 6-0) in the previous round.
