Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle won against Slovak Veronika Erjavec 6-1, 6-3 to reach the last 16 of the Bari Open at Circolo Tennis Bari on Tuesday.
Carle, ranked No 165, will face the winner of the match between Latvian Darja Semenistaja and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 5 seed, next.
