Frenchwoman Carole Monnet defeated Italian wildcard Vittoria Paganetti in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the last 16 of the Bari Open at Circolo Tennis Bari on Tuesday.
Monnet, ranked No. 166, will face Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa next.
