Bari Open: Sonmez makes quarter-finals

Turkey’s Zeynep Sonmez moved into the last eight of the Bari Open by defeating Spaniard Aliona Bolsova, the No 3 seed, 6-1, 6-2 at Circolo Tennis Bari on Thursday.
Sonmez, ranked No 177, will face the winner of the match between Croat Jana Fett and Cypriot Raluka Serban next.
In the previous round of the Puglia Open, Zeynep Sonmez won against Swiss Ylena In-Albon (6-4, 7-6 (4)).
Bolsova, ranked No 113, edged out Italian wildcard Camilla Rosatello (3-6, 6-0, 6-4) during the 32 of the Puglia Open.
