China Open: Swiatek reaches last eight with 60th win of the year

Second seed Iga Swiatek moved into the last eight of the China Open by winning against Magda Linette 6-1, 6-1 at National Tennis Center in Beijing on Wednesday.
The win was her 60th of the season, making her the first woman to clock two consecutive seasons with 60 or more victories since Agnieszka Radwanska a decade ago.
Swiatek, ranked No 2, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina and Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 9 seed, next.
Iga Swiatek beat Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (6-4, 6-3) and Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva (6-4, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Beijing tournament, Linette, ranked No 25, defeated Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No 14 seed (5-7, 6-1, 6-2) and American Jennifer Brady (3-1 ret.).
