Shanghai Masters: Cerundolo recovers to edge past Fuscovics and reach last 16

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 20 seed, edged out Hungarian Marton Fucsovics 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 to reach the last 16 of the Shanghai Masters at the Qi Zhong Stadium.

Cerundolo, ranked No 21, will face American Sebastian Korda, the No 26 seed, next.

The Argentinian beat American Mackenzie McDonald (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)) ahead of his victory.

In the previous rounds of the Shanghai tournament, Fucsovics, ranked No 57, won against Kazakh qualifier Denis Yevseyev (6-4, 6-2) and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 14 seed (7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-3).
