Seventh seed Barbora Krejcikova reached the last 4 of the Zhengzhou Open when Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko retired on Friday at Zhongyuan Tennis Training Base Management Center.
Krejcikova, ranked No 18, led 6-3 when Tsurenko, ranked No 43, pulled out at Zhongyuan Tennis Training Base Management Center on Friday afternoon.
Krejcikova will face Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Krejcikova beat Croat Petra Martic (7-5, 6-1).
The 34-year-old Ukrainian won against Russian lucky loser Diana Shnaider (6-4, 6-2) and Croat Donna Vekic, the No 10 seed (7-6 (4), 7-6 (2)) earlier in the tournament.
