Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 5 seed, moved into the second round of the Transylvania Open by defeating Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova 6-4, 6-1 in Cluj-Napoca.
Bogdan, ranked No 73, will face wildcard Nikola Bartunkova next.
