Metz Open: Shevchenko beats lucky loser Valkusz to make last eight

Russian Alexander Shevchenko moved into the last eight of the Metz Open by beating Hungarian lucky loser Mate Valkusz 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 at Arènes de Metz.
Shevchenko, ranked No 63, will face Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 3 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Russian defeated French qualifier Mathias Bourgue (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Metz tournament.
In the previous round of the Metz tournament, Valkusz, ranked No 232, beat German Daniel Altmaier (6-2, 6-2).
