Sofia Open: Kotov makes quarter-finals as Baez forced to retire injured
Pavel Kotov benefited from the retirement of Sebastian Baez (3-6, 7-6 (4), 0-0) and will face Marton Fucsovics, the No 8 seed, in the next round

Russian Pavel Kotov advanced to the quarter-finals of the Sofia Open when Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 4 seed, retired injured during their last-16 encounter.
Kotov, ranked No 80, led 3-6, 7-6 (4), 0-0 when Baez, ranked No 29, pulled out on Wednesday evening.
The Russian will face Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round, Pavel Kotov beat Bulgarian wildcard Alexandar Lazarov (3-6, 6-1, 6-2).
