Argentinian Martina Capurro Taborda, the No 3 seed, beat American wildcard Taly Licht 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the Montevideo Open at the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club.
Capurro Taborda, ranked No 157, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz and American Robin Montgomery next.
