Russian Erika Andreeva moved into the quarter-finals of the Angers Open by winning against Romanian Andreea Mitu 6-2, 7-5 at the Arena Loire de Trélazé.
Andreeva, ranked No 122, will play Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the second seed, next.
The 19-year-old Russian beat Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (7-5, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Angers tournament, Mitu, ranked No 225, edged out Ukrainian lucky loser Anastasiya Soboleva (4-6, 6-3, 7-5).
